Hi there! Mick and Dan here from Brightside Duo. We are a Melbourne wedding band and would love to play at your wedding or event! We are on the preferred supplier list for many venues around Melbourne, and are professional, friendly and easy to work with.
With many years of experience and hundreds of weddings under our belt, we have earned a reputation as one of Melbourne’s best wedding bands. We are not an agency, so when you book us, you get us. Due to us being in a band together for many years we don’t have to read lyrics or chords from charts. Instead, we can actually concentrate on performing and engaging with you and your guests.

All we need is a power-point and shelter. We have top of the range audio and lighting equipment and can adapt to nearly any situation we are presented with. From intimate gatherings to large scale events with hundreds of guests.

What does Brightside bring and how does it all work?
We bring all equipment and lighting necessary for our show. Which means that all you have to do is book us and we take care of the rest! We can adapt to nearly any space (most of the time there’s only two of us) and with our ridiculous lighting gear we can transform any venue into an awesome party!
Wedding Reception Music
The wedding reception is not just about dinner, speeches and formalities. It’s also the time when the bridal party and guests can let their hair down and have some fun! This is where your wedding band comes in. No wedding reception is complete without some great live music to dance and sing along to. We understand that the reception often goes for a number of hours. Early in the event your guests will want to chat, eat, mingle and of course speeches and other formalities need to occur at some point. Keeping this in mind we don’t come out guns blazing straight away but stick to more mellow acoustic music playing familiar tunes that everyone can enjoy without drowning out conversations. Once the formalities are over we take it up a level to get the dance floor pumping by playing all your favourite songs from the classics to modern favourites.
We are also more than happy to learn songs for the reception. Like the ceremony we want to make your reception memorable so if there is a special song you would like us to learn for the wedding dance we’d love to help out by doing our own acoustic rendition. But if you’d prefer to playing the original version by the artist, no problem either – we can play the mp3 through our top of the range P.A. system!

Wedding Ceremony Music
We have played countless wedding ceremonies but each one has its own special and unique feel. We know yours will too. As guests start to arrive we play a selection of mellow acoustic instrumental music that adds to the ambience of the pre-ceremony without being overly loud so people are able to chat and mingle.
The ceremony itself is all about you. We are more than happy to learn music for the bridal entrance, signing of the registry and exit. Many people have specific songs that resonate personally with them and their partner. Having these played at one of the most important moments of their life can add that special touch to make the ceremony just right. If you are having trouble deciding what music will suit best have no fear, we have an extensive repertoire and are more than happy to offer suggestions and guidance.
Canapé Music & MC service
Planning on following your ceremony with canapés served outdoors in the sunshine? Well nothing accompanies food and a glass of wine better than music! We can offer more light background acoustic music that can range from instrumental jazz through to acoustic pop and is a great way to bridge the gap between the ceremony and reception.
We are very happy to MC your event, we’ve performed this important task many times before and know how to set the right mood for you and your guests and make sure the event runs as smoothly as possible. Most people are surprised at how much is involved in MCing an event – It’s not just making a couple of announcements. An MC needs to work with the bride and groom,venue, band, and photographer during the course of the event and can be pivotal to making the event run smoothly.
